Morrison
This NZ family derives from two sons of Alexander and Anne Grant of Kinlochewe, Gairloch, Scotland.

Donald Morrison  emigrated with wife Mary Ann (nee Ross)and son Alexander on the Sabrina, to Swan River, Western Australia. Duncan was born during the voyage and John in Swan River. They moved to New Zealand C1858, settling  in Turakina and finally Maxwell, Wanganui. Children born in NZ were Joseph, Mary Anne, Christina & William. See photographs of this family.

Kenneth Morrison came to Dunedin C1860 working as a school teacher. His fiancee Margaret Mathieson arrived in August 1861 on the Velore. Her diary of the voyage makes interesting reading. They married and had one child, Catherine, known as Kitty who married her cousin Alexander. See photo's and information on Kenneth & Margaret.
Dooley.
James Dooley, wife Mary Ann (nee Burns)and daughter Margaret left Robertstown, Ireland for Capetown, South Africa on the Maria Somes in 1860. They lived in Capetown for 4 years where Jane & James were born, deciding to move on as the promised opportunities in Capetown did not eventuate. The family sailed to New Zealand on the Alfred arriving in November 1864, settling at Waipipi on the southern arm of the Manakau Harbour. Six more children, Mary, Ellen, Bridget, Catherine, Florence and John were born at Waipipi. They settled at various places from North Cape to Hamilton, where most of their descendants remain.
